Introduction
The art program educates students in the synthesis of critical thinking, communication, and creative practice. Our goal is to facilitate success strategies in diverse fields in the visual arts that extend to lifelong learning.
The art area within the Department of Art, Theatre, and Dance is committed to providing exceptional education in the visual arts in a stimulating, nurturing, and diverse academic community. The area strives to provide both a fertile and challenging environment for aesthetic and critical engagement and the technical skills necessary for art practice in the changing landscape of the twenty-first century. It encourages innovation and cross-disciplinary activity and believes that students should utilize many resources both within and outside the university to inform and deepen their artistic vision. We believe that the arts can make a difference at the local, national, and international levels and that the arts play a vital role in the global community's future.
