Introduction
The first-degree cycle in Economics of Tourism and Cities (ETaC) is offered by the Department of Economics in the Rimini Campus.
In today's global economy, operating in the tourism sector and improving the urban environment bring new challenges, such as creativity, innovation, sustainability, digitalization, and entrepreneurship. Soft skills and quantitative methods are becoming increasingly important in managing the complex interactions between tourism, city management, and digital tools in public and private organizations.
ETAC provides students with cultural, technical, and analytical skills to find jobs and build careers in the tourism industry and smart-cities contexts. A graduated ETAC can become a manager or professional in private and public enterprises dealing with the development of cities as tourist destinations.
To this aim, ETAC offers excellent preparation in economics, local development, tourism planning, and management and develops professional profiles with a deep knowledge of the complex interactions and interdependencies between creative and leisure industries, business strategies, tourism markets, and urban planning and policies. Finally, this program prepares students for master-level programs in economics and management.
