Introduction
The degree course of Finance and Accounting perfectly fits the University’s mission, which strives to ensure that every graduate has above all practical skills and develops social competencies and creative attitudes necessary to face the challenges posed by the market in a developing global economy. This is because studies in this field focus on issues related to the management of cash resources, records of transactions, financial instruments used for this, and analysis and control of financial flows in all entities operating in the modern economy. Even a household cannot function efficiently today without the elementary knowledge of finance and accounting. However, without good specialists in this field today, no economic entity can operate, starting from a one-person family company, through all kinds, types, and sizes of businesses, institutions, and local government units, to the most significant entity, the state.
The studies last six semesters, both in full-time and extramural part-time systems. The studies have a practical profile – which means a large share of practical classes in the study plan: workshops, laboratories, exercises, seminars, and foreign internships. Classes end with a diploma exam. Graduates obtain a bachelor’s degree.
