Introduction
The Political Science and International Relations department explores the big questions about issues of power and authority that go to the heart of how people are governed. Our world is being reshaped in fascinating and critical ways. Security considerations, geopolitics, divisions born of wealth and poverty, and global development challenges have all become unavoidable realities. Our award-winning faculty offer courses across each of the major subfields in political science, including Canadian politics, comparative politics, international relations, political theory, public policy, and administration. Students can then choose specialized third and fourth-year courses to refine their interests through real student engagement and experiential learning - in Canada, the United States, and abroad. With an active student club and debating society, vibrant discussion, timely public lectures, and visits to major political institutions take place frequently. A political science degree at King's provides students with the tools they need to navigate a complex world.
