The study of artifacts and buildings of past civilizations to understand their culture and history is known as archaeology. Items examined can include religious relics, physical remains, artwork and tools. Students typically choose a focus such as a time period, a geographic area or a type of society.

Universities in Turkey provide either two or four years of education for undergraduate studies, while graduate programs last a minimum of two years. There are around 820 higher education institutions in Turkey including 76 universities with a total student enrollment of over 1 million. The quality of education at the Turkish universities varies greatly, some providing education and facilities on par with internationally renowned schools.

Ankara is the capital of Turkey and, among Istanbul, has the multitude of 13 universities, three institutes and many different private and public schools. It’s also known for institutes, concert halls, opera and ballet and other products of high culture.
