    The research planning and the academic and enterprise cooperation are run by “The Research Center of Automobile and Mechatronic Industry Technology”. First, space and equipment required by “The Research Center of Automobile Technology” is established. During the first stage, the analysis of power and pollution of our scooters and a small-scale gasoline engine is conducted to operate in coordination with the development of EFI jet system for scooter engines, development of substitute fuel systems, and exhaust purifying system, to help manufacturers with the examination of engine purifying. At the same time, the center also helps the Medicine Technology Center to improve the development of “Walcabs” and to ameliorate the performance of the engine used in the fuel-saving contest. Then, inter-field programs such as Precision Engineering, Automobile Machine, and Electricity, Creativity Designing, equipment for the development of robot machines, micro processing, and automatically controlled instruments are also established and installed.     The Electrical Engineering program at the National University of Tainan was established in 2005. With the rapid industrial growth, the cultivation of technology-talented persons is critical to Taiwan's economic development. A rich variety of advanced engineering opportunities are available in the newly established Southern Taiwan Science Park. It is only a thirty-minute drive away from our main campus. In 2008 and 2009, the Institute of Communications Engineering and the Institute of Electro-Optical Engineering were merged into the Department of Electrical Engineering, respectively, and has since strengthened our educational offerings. In the fall of 2011, the department integrated the three institutes into the Institute of Electrical Engineering and began to provide Ph. D. program. Our aims are: To familiarize the students with all major areas of electrical engineering and enable them to engage in advanced research and development in the electrical-related industries.
