Introduction
The Law Program was established in 2014 AD in light of the policy of Al Buraimi University College to expand the offering of distinguished programs in line with the blessed renaissance witnessed by the Sultanate in the modern era. The law program offers two degrees:
First: Bachelor's degree in law:
The student obtains a bachelor’s degree in law after successfully passing (129) credit hours, in addition to the foundation program courses and the college’s general requirements unit. The minimum for a degree is six semesters.
The academic degree is awarded in the law program in connection with the academic link with Ain Shams University in the Arab Republic of Egypt (represented by the Faculty of Law), where a student who obtains a bachelor’s degree is granted a certificate accredited by both the Buraimi University College and the College of Law / Ain Shams University.
The study plan for the Bachelor of Laws program includes several elements that help the graduate to compete efficiently in the labor market. From this, several courses are presented that are compatible with recent developments such as international and internal arbitration, electronic commerce, intellectual property, and consumer protection, as well as focus on practical aspects so that the study is not purely theoretical, by offering two scientific training courses, one of which is internal training and the other is external training. Finally, the student should be keen to develop research skills, but be able to continue his postgraduate studies.
After the student successfully passes the requirements for obtaining a bachelor’s degree, he will be able to: Know precisely the basic concepts and rules of law, compare it between legislative and jurisprudential solutions, analyze legal issues and propose appropriate solutions to them, prepare scientific research according to approved scientific research methods, and draft legal notes and case papers in Arabic Sound.
The Bachelor of Laws program qualifies the "graduate" to work in several diverse fields, perhaps the most important of which are: the judiciary of all kinds, public prosecution, advocacy and legal advice, international and internal arbitration, legal affairs in government and private companies and institutions, and so on.
Second: Master's degree in law:
The law program offers a master's degree in law (Master of Public Law - Master of Private Law) in cooperation with Ain Shams University in the Arab Republic of Egypt, where the graduate is awarded a certificate accredited by both Ain Shams University and Buraimi University College.
The master's program consists of: (36) credit hours of ten courses (30 hours) and a thesis (6) credit hours. The period required to obtain a master's degree is at least four regular semesters.
The Master of Laws program is characterized by the diversity of its courses and its pursuit of recent scientific developments. Where students start with joint courses for all students enrolled in the program (four courses), then the student chooses for evidence of the specialization he wishes to study, whether public law or private law. As the program includes several courses that are compatible with modern developments such as human trafficking, law, tourism, industrial reproduction, etc., and courses of an important practical nature, such as real estate registration legislation. After the successful completion of the courses, the student chooses with great flexibility the supervisor of the thesis in the specialty he has chosen, as there are teaching competencies that cover all the students ’choices.
The program aims to expand the scientific research base in the college, prepare legal cadres and competencies capable of outstanding performance and competition in the labor market, contribute to the efforts of nationalization (Omanisation) in the various fields of legal work, save time, efforts and expenses incurred by citizens to pursue higher studies abroad, and develop research skills. Scientific.
The program qualifies the "graduate" in order to be able to practice critical thinking of specific problems and suggest appropriate solutions to them, analyze, interpret and evaluate legislative texts, judicial rulings and jurisprudential theories, compare between different legislative, jurisprudential and judicial trends, extract similarities and differences, and prepare scientific research according to the methods and approaches of scientific research adopted until The student will be able to continue and study the PhD.
