Introduction
Since September 2020, SBC and USST offer students a fantastic and unique opportunity to earn both a British bachelor degree and a Chinese bachelor degree. If international students have a strong desire to learn Chinese, they can be dual enrolled. After four years of study at SBC, students can earn both a British bachelor degree certificate from Liverpool John Moores University and a Chinese bachelor degree certificate from the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST).

Programme Aims
This major cultivates advanced engineering talents with international knowledge structure and international communication ability, good humanities and scientific literacy, solid basic knowledge of natural science and information engineering, strong engineering practice and sustainable learning ability, and can engage in research and development, design, manufacturing, operation and management in the fields of electronics, information science, electronic engineering, computer technology, etc.
Characteristics
- Engineering knowledge: have solid basic knowledge of mathematics, physics and computer technology, master professional knowledge in the field of information science, and be able to use the knowledge learned to solve complex problems related to information engineering.
- Problem analysis: be able to use the basic knowledge and professional knowledge to identify and express the scientific problems and complex engineering practical problems in the field of information engineering, and use academic journals and network databases for literature review, comparison and analysis to obtain effective conclusions.
- Design/development solutions: be able to design solutions for problems in the field of information engineering, design systems, units (components) or processes to meet specific needs, meet the relevant international and domestic development, design, management and quality standards of the information engineering industry, meet specific application requirements, and reflect the sense of innovation in the design process, considering the social, health and safety, In addition, there are also many factors, such as law, culture and environment.
- Research: Based on scientific principles and using scientific methods to study the problems in the field of information engineering, including designing experiments, analysing data, and getting reasonable and effective conclusions through information synthesis.
- Use modern tools: be able to select and use appropriate technologies, resources, modern engineering tools and information technology tools for the problems in the field of information engineering, including the prediction and Simulation of complex engineering problems, and be able to understand their limitations.
- Engineering and society: be able to reasonably analyze the problems in the field of Information Engineering Based on the relevant background knowledge of information engineering, evaluate the impact of professional engineering practice and problem solutions on society, health, safety, law and culture, and understand the responsibilities.
- Environment and sustainable development: be familiar with the guidelines, policies, laws and regulations of environmental protection and sustainable development, and understand and evaluate the impact of information engineering practice and problem solutions on environment and socially sustainable development.
- Professional norms: have the quality of Humanities and Social Sciences and the sense of social responsibility, be familiar with the laws and regulations and code of conduct in the field of information engineering, and be able to abide by the code of professional ethics and fulfil the responsibilities in the practice of information engineering.
