This course enables students to study towards science and science education career options supported by the School of Environmental and Life Sciences. This course offers flexibility and diversity with a focus on gaining professional experience, whether as a biologist, spatial scientist, science educator, chemist or in other science fields. Students can study externally or internally and may choose to integrate studies from a variety of areas outside of traditional science disciplines into their science degree. A range of options for pathways to courses offered by Flinders University, James Cook University and Australian National University are also available.
Graduates are equipped to demonstrate and apply an understanding of their chosen areas of science, including concepts, theories, and principles to practice in real situations. Students also become effective problem solvers able to think globally, apply logical and critical thinking, and to apply an understanding of scientific and technological factors and to consider issues from various cultural, economic and other societal perspectives.
