Design a Degree as Unique as Yourself with a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies

The famous American author and illustrator James A. Owen once said, “We are all, each and every one, unique in the Universe. And that uniqueness is what makes us valuable.”

You are unique and deserve a degree that reflects your individualism. With a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies, you can design a degree to meet your personal or professional passions by choosing two or three areas of study.

Through our interdisciplinary studies degree, you can study multiple disciplines while learning how to effectively communicate your ideas, so that you can thrive in today’s changing work environments. By choosing more than one discipline, you can adapt to many different career opportunities or combine complementary skills that will help you succeed in the workplace. A degree that is versatile and adapts to the changing workforce will be invaluable in your search for success.

Why Choose Liberty’s Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies?

Our interdisciplinary studies bachelor’s degree allows you to maximize any prior college credit, military training, or on-the-job training you might have and turn it into credit toward degree completion. You have the possibility of earning your degree quicker and in a more affordable manner. To represent the variety of courses integrated into this program, we named our degree “interdisciplinary studies” as opposed to “general studies,” which you might see at other universities.

Throughout this degree program, we help you define your goals and shape your degree to best suit your professional needs. Depending on what you are studying, there are opportunities for internships and professional development that help prepare you for success in the job market. Additionally, our professors provide you with training and instruction from the years of experience they possess in their field. If you are looking for more chances for fellowship or to participate in events and competitions, there are many student organizations you can join. You can hone your skills and make important connections with peers, professors, and even local businesses.

You can be confident that your courses are taught from a Christian worldview, as we place a specific focus on giving you the spiritual support you need throughout your time with us. From time spent with the spiritual leaders in your hall, to attendance at Convocation, there are many opportunities to receive spiritual guidance and reinforce your spiritual development. Make friendships that will last a lifetime with students from over 50 states and 70 different countries. Your Liberty experience does not end when you graduate. The connections and spiritual growth you gain will always be an integral part of your life.

What Will You Learn in Our Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies?

We designed our interdisciplinary studies degree program to provide opportunities for you to increase your job marketability by expanding your foundational knowledge in a variety of areas. Regardless of which areas of study you choose, you will receive training in some basic disciplines like career planning, professional development, communication skills, writing, and public speaking. Your degree completion plan will vary based on what your goals and passions are.

By choosing our Bachelor of Arts track, you will have a foreign language course requirement. This added language elective can help prepare you for graduate degree programs, as some universities require you to have a foreign language reading ability for admission to their programs. Having a foreign language ability will also be helpful if you wish to pursue careers in an international context.
