The graduate of the career is an educational professional who understands and values diversity as a characteristic of the different dimensions of the human being. It has specific pedagogical competencies to promote and manage processes of social and educational inclusion relevant to the particularities of deaf students or those with learning, communication, or language difficulties. Its performance is based on a focus on law and social justice, addressing educational needs through collaborative work and in interdisciplinary teams, to promote learning opportunities in different social and educational contexts.
It implements multidimensional pedagogical evaluative processes that base pertinent decision-making and generates inclusive learning situations, integrating communicative and linguistic knowledge related to Spanish, the Chilean sign language, and alternative communication systems. Develops the ability to manage innovative and inclusive projects that consider diversity.
The occupational field includes special schools, regular schools with and without a school integration program, social, cultural, or educational organizations and institutions aimed at children, young people and adults in vulnerable situations, lawbreakers, schools and hospital classrooms, and free exercise. of the profession.
