Public Relations is the business of communication, relationships and reputation. Every organization, no matter how large or small, depends on its reputation to survive and grow, and a company’s good reputation can be its most valuable asset. Using all available media, Public Relations professionals create and maintain relationships with audiences in order to build and maintain goodwill and mutual understanding between an organization and the public.
The Public Relations concentration at the University of New York in Prague aims to provide students with the outstanding communication and promotional abilities that are needed to manage client reputations, to influence media opinion, and to represent a client to the outside world. These skills are highly desired in the current era, in which all business and public entities need dedicated and proficient communication professionals on the team.
To be eligible for the Communications and Media degree with a Public Relations concentration, the student must be enrolled in the State University of New York Empire State Universitymand UNYP Dual degree program. To obtain a concentration in Public Relations, students must obtain 12 credits (24 ECTS credits) in courses from the list of the concentration subjects; select a topic for the bachelor thesis in a topic related to the concentration focus; and succeed in the Czech State Exam and earning the UNYP bachelor's degree. The name of the concentration will appear in the UNYP Diploma Supplement along with the specification of the Major.
