BSc - Bachelor of Chemistry

Bachelor of Chemistry students are taught the principle fields of contemporary chemistry: molecular chemistry, solids and materials chemistry, physical chemistry and organic chemistry. This course provides students with the solid foundations necessary for further study (a master’s degree) or for the teaching professions. The two-year course offers two specializations: chemistry, and physics and chemistry. BSc - Bachelor of Computer Science

Computer science has insinuated itself at many levels of our daily life. It is manifest in manifold ways, from the private sphere to industrial applications: email, video games, bank cards, office systems, database management, internet and telecommunications, embedded control systems, avionics, etc. Professions in the field reflect this variety.However, the diversity of IT applications and tools are simply the product of a few basic principles: data structures and algorithms, programming languages and models, representation formats and communication protocols, an organization of hardware and software systems, etc. The Bachelor of Computer Science aims to provide its students with the intellectual and technical skills and knowledge of the tools which will allow them to be involved in the development of the complex and multifaceted field of Computer Science.The Bachelor of Computer Science department offers a main course and several specific courses.... BSc - Bachelor of Earth Sciences

The subject areas of earth sciences provide general teaching in the fields of the sciences of the Earth, universe and the environment, centered on multi-disciplinary foundations acquired in the BGPC programme (biology, geology, physics, chemistry) of the integration cycle (first year of license) at UPMC. The teaching in earth sciences at levels L2 and L3 correspond to fundamental knowledge – both theoretical and practical – in the discipline. The objective is to give students an education which combines observations and measurements of land, experiments, and modeling while integrating all of the professions in the sector: geology, paleontology, geophysics, geochemistry, hydrology, geotechnics.The geotechnics option in partnership with the national conservatory of arts and professions is specialization in L3.... BSc - Bachelor of Exact and Natural Sciences

Objectives:- Consolidate and diversity students’ scientific culture while reinforcing their general culture.- Encouraging entry into preparation, in IUFM, for one of the competitive exams that lead to a teaching profession (primary-school teacher exam, professional secondary-school teacher exam, assistant principal exam).- Entry for the administrative competitive exams of category A, which leads to various professions in State or territorial public positions.

BSc - Bachelor of Life Sciences

The objective of this bachelor’s degree is to allow students to acquire solid scientific knowledge for a real understanding of the living things. This also involves the teaching of biology and the general organisation of the animal and vegetable kingdoms as well as the functioning of organisms, from the molecular level to integrated biological systems. Teaching is designed to combine fundamental concepts and teaching of methodological tools. As often as possible, topical issues in research and its applications are presented. Objectives also include demonstrating that an understanding of the living world is done through a multidisciplinary approach, giving students the tools and concepts that will allow them to make diagnostic evaluations and establish corrective measures in all the fields of biology and developing critical analysis of the concerns of society in relation to biology (cloning, GMOs, health, the environment).... BSc - Bachelor of Mathematics

The organisation of this subject area is as flexible as possible, taking into account the specific aspects of the teaching of mathematics, the internal logic of which determines to a large extent the order in which the notions must be presented.It makes for varied programmes of study and the possibility of refocusing your direction late into the course and offers a very solid foundation of theoretical fundamentals that will be vital in the future. Students who foresee graduating into active life will be able to find in this programme teaching that is adapted to their particular plans by choosing a set of teaching units that is less theoretical but covers a spectrum of knowledge that is wider or geared toward applications.... BSc - Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering

The subject area of mechanics provides teaching in the engineering sciences and, more particularly, in the fields of the mechanics of fluids and energetics, the engineering of structures and materials, acoustics, robotics, industrial automation or civil engineering.In the second year of the licence, scientific teaching is reinforced in four fundamental disciplines - mathematics, physics, computer science and mechanics. In the fourth semester, through a choice of optional teaching, students are introduced to the different domains of application of mechanics.In the third year, according to students’ tastes, a specialisation is offered in one of the four programmes of study within the subject area. BSc - Bachelor of Physics

The bachelor’s degree in physics offers general teaching in physics in terms of its theoretical and experimental aspects. Level L2 (orientation cycle) aims to give students the general fundamentals of physics as well as those of related disciplines such as mathematics while keeping the door open to other disciplines, particularly mechanics, electronics, and chemistry. During L2, a change of direction toward the subject areas of electronics, mechanics or chemistry are possibles. Level L3 (specialization cycle) concerns the different aspects of current physics while allowing students to refine their professional plans and studies. Through the six types of study programmes, a choice is offered between fundamental physics, applied teaching, bi-disciplinary or multidisciplinary studies centered around physics. BSc in Electronic Engineering

This subject area offers multidisciplinary teaching in electronics in all its aspects as well as its applications. The teaching provides a basis in analogue and digital electronics, which is necessary for an understanding of the study of various electronics systems. This allows students to acquire vital knowledge in computer science, mathematics and physics that is complementary to the teaching of electronics.

BSc in First Year : Integration Cycle

The first year of a science and technology licence is a year of integration and orientation where students have a multi-disciplinary choice of courses before focusing on a more specialised course of study. Students can thus personalise their programmes of study through a certain number teaching units (TU) which are divided in the following manner:

BSc in International Bachelor's Program in Computer Science

This international program is organized in collaboration with the University of Montreal (Canada). It offers students, in their first three years at UPMC, the possibility of a first international experience in a French-speaking environment. The linguistic approach will allow the students to follow the courses and to integrate the given education field without difficulty. The reciprocal recognition of pedagogical practices of each higher education institution, both pioneers in the education of computer science, assures that participants of this international course will find similar quality and complementary education in each institution. ... BSc in International Program in Life Science

This program offers students the possibility to pursue the second semester of L3 (S6) at the University of Montreal. By assuring a pedagogic course (in French) similar to the one offered at UPMC, the program enables students to easily experience international mobility, to discover new work methods or to extend the semester with an internship in research laboratories in Canada. The program also allows students to enhance their pedagogic course in a field of personal interest in regard to better prepare their incoming master.

BSc in MATH@PARIS&OSLO

The department of mathematics (bachelor's degree) at UPMC offers a partnership with the University of Oslo whose objective is to support the international student mobility. Specific courses are offered and connected around the common and specific offers in each of the two universities.
